Emily Briody
Mixed Media Painting
Learning Intentions
• To be able to choose and research a
theme from the sustainable development
plan
• To understand what a collage is and how
it can be made
• To know how to transfer and edit from
the collage onto paper
• To be able to create a mixed media
painting
What went well and why?
• Creating the collage went well, any
imagery related to good health and
wellbeing that I found in my magazines
worked well together. They all had
similarities.
• Transferring a print for the first time.
Following clearly step by step how to do
it, it is hard to fail.
• Making a stencil. Taking time to
carefully cut out the interesting areas
and placing the stencil over different
coloured pages to test the possibilities
for generating further imagery.
• Photocopying my collage in black and
white gave a vibrant look when I placed
it as a stencil over coloured paper.
Even better if?
• When using my viewfinder to take
close ups of my collage I could have
used my phone to edit the image to
change the colours and tones.
• I could have used different coloured
acetate sheets to place over my
mixed media painting and stencils.
