Drawing

  • I started off by not using a pencil first of all, so that I wouldn’t use a rubber to rub out any mistakes. I wanted to go back to being comfortable using a pen and letting my lines move any direction. I wanted to loosen up my drawings, overlap and connect them together. I started working large scale with big sheets of paper. I would often draw from the ground. It was a nice way of working to just feel the work and idea develop.

  • I really enjoy working with colour and making my work look lively. I want my work to jump out to people. I love how there are so many possibilities when it comes to a blank page, it is endless. You can do absolutely anything. I love to water down the page with water colours first and then complete it with oil pastels. I love to cut out images and create collages, the space can be interesting, looking at the shapes it creates.

  • Using the projector to project my drawings onto the wall…. Using camera lucida to draw what it is projecting onto the page….
