My materials, approaches and processes…​

• I used oil pastels, water-colours, colouring-pencils, colouring markers to start off with. These materials helped me to express my ideas further and play around with colour.

• I stretched a canvas onto the wall, I prepped it with gesso and then I gave it a wash with watered down acrylic paint ‘burnt umber’, this made the canvas less intimidating for me to work onto instead of starting onto a blank white canvas.

• I started to place acetate over some of the images I’ve printed and drawn on top of them, and placed the acetate sheets over the projector. At least with the projector I could move the sheets around and see what outcome I can expect on the canvas. I would then lightly sketch onto the canvas first.

• My way of painting is starting off with Acrylics first and then going over what’s blocked in with oils next. This gives the piece a nice texture to paint onto.
